40&1 Youth Baseball league is unique in that anyone that has the "want to play" in them and the ability to play, is eligible to play. 40&1 Youth Baseball does not discriminate. 40&1 has even had handicap youth play in our league that were denied in others, because of their handicap. Every player plays a minimum of 3 innings per game! ....

  40&1 Youth Baseball league is unique in that anyone that has the "want to play" in them and the ability to play, is eligible to play. 40&1 Youth Baseball does not discriminate. 40&1 has even had handicap youth play in our league that were denied in others, because of their handicap. Every player plays a minimum of 3 innings per game!  ....

  One such player came to 40&1 when she was 7 years old. Denied by another league in the City because of her handicap,(one arm), 40&1 allowed her to play. This young girl is now a young lady and went on to play college softball.

  In addition, 40&1 is not an affiliated Little League Team for the simple reason that being so would mean we would incur boundries. We want to make affordable and available to all youths throughout the City and surrounding towns the oppurtunity to play baseball in a fun, family oriented enviroment.

  40&1 attempts to balance teams through their draft process. The coaches get together on a given night after the registration to select their team. The process is such that seasoned players, (Those playing in their division for a 2nd or 3rd year), are drafted in the 1st rounds. When they are all selected, we then move to 1st year players in their divsion that have played in prior years at 40&1. The final rounds are then set aside for new players entering the league for their 1st year.

  Our coaches are volunteers, as are the rest of the board. Some of them are putting their skills to the test for the first time. They also need time to get to know your son/daughter, and their abilities. Please give them your support. Offer to help vs. criticize. Keep it positive for them as well as all the players.
